Arthur Hakobyan was born in 1978 Yerevan, Armenia. In 2001 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts department of Graphics. In 2004 received a degree of Doctor of Arts in the field of Art History. Since 1998 has participated in numerous international printmaking exhibition-competitions and has received several national and international awards in the field of printmaking and illustration /International Small Engraving Salon Carbunari 2004, 2nd prize/ Mini Print Exhibition at OSA 2008, Ottawa, Canada, “purchase winning” entry/Photography & Illustration Awards, Applied Arts Magazine 2008, Toronto, Canada, Winner (editorial/mag illustration nomination)/Photography & Illustration Awards, Applied Arts Magazine 2009, Toronto, Canada, Winner (editorial/mag illustration nomination)/. In 2005 he had a personal exhibition of engravings in Modern Gallery, Baya Mare, Romania. In 2009 participated in Contemporary Art symposium “Alanica 2009”, Russia.
